About Wil
Wil Oliver, also known as Wil Transcending, is a writer, recovery practitioner, and mindfulness teacher working at the crossroads of Black aliveness, ancestral memory, and truth-telling presence. He is a Master of Social Work and a certified Mindfulness Mentor, bringing both systemic insight and lived wisdom to every breath-based offering.
Rooted in Africultural wisdom and guided by Sankofa Theory, Wil creates spaces where breath becomes portal, body becomes archive, and presence becomes the practice of liberatory recovery. “Voice must not be filtered and power must be shared.”
Much of the Sankofa-based frameworks referenced on this Substack site integrate the teachings shared of Dr. Shelly Harrell in the 2025 mentorship circle through the Soulfulness Center. I have expanded upon these teachings with my own language, lived interpretation, and practice. This statement affirms the origin, lineage, and integrity of the work shared here.
Wil is also the author of two upcoming best-selling books. These working titles reflect a subversive blend of humor, solemnity, cultural clarity, and unapologetic presence of the final manuscripts.
“This work is protected by a Cultural Integrity Statement affirming authorship, attribution, consent to usage, and ancestral stewardship for the betterment of the global African Diaspora. See full protocol [here].”
